Australian Sam Masters will faces a battle to be fit for the start of the UK Speedway season after breaking a bone
in his Tiba (Lower Leg) at the final round of the Australian Speedway Championships at Gillman, SA, last Sunday.
Masters withdrew from the the final of the championship after crashing in practice and deciding that the pain was to much to compete.
The 2017 Australian Speedway Champion is set to undergo surgery today where the bone will be screwed together in an attempt to speed up recovery.
‰ÛÏI could ride in a fortnight if I needed to because it‰Ûªs nothing too serious even though I need surgery," the 26-year-old told SpeedwayGP.
‰ÛÏThe fact they are putting a screw into the damaged area means they are strengthening it and I‰Ûªll be right and good to go pretty quickly.
‰ÛÏI‰Ûªd like to thank everyone over in the UK for their messages. I appreciate it very much and I‰Ûªm looking forward to a big season in Europe.
‰ÛÏThe Wolverhampton team looks good and I‰Ûªm really excited about everything. This is only a minor blip in my season prep and I could be back on a bike in two weeks.‰Û
