Ryan Lancaster and Yamaha join forces for 2012

Posted:

Australia's premier ATV racer, Ryan Lancaster, will compete on Yamaha's screaming YFZ450R for the 2012 racing season after joining forces with Yamaha Motor Australia for the new year.

The 25 year old Perth native and two-time Australian Championship will be back on the familiar blue beast and looking to capture his best form in his quest to regain his position as the best ATV racer in the country.

"I'm excited about the new partnership with Yamaha for the 2012 season and can't wait to get the season under way."

"I raced Yamaha's previously and getting on the 2012 model was like coming home as the bike still retains all the things I loved about it. The Yamaha quad is a great handling bike and it steers so well that it just makes you want to ride it harder. Combined with the usual Yamaha attention to detail and durability, I feel 2012 is going to be my best season yet," Lancaster said.

The 2012 schedule looks busy for Lancaster as he has several goals in place and plenty of major race meetings to contest. ATV's will contest a two round Australian motocross Championship in conjunction with the MX Nationals, as well as their standalone final round at Maffra. He will also compete in the WA state championships and look to win the Finke desert race.

"It's going to be a busy year but I feel I have a great group of companies and people supporting me in 2012 and look forward to a huge year."

Yamaha Motorsport Manager, Ray Howard, is also excited about the new relationship with Lancaster and is eager to see what he can produce in 2012.

"With the ATV market an important segment in our product range, it was important we utilize the skills of the right rider to showcase the performance of the YFZ450R. With Ryan, we believe we have a great chance at winning several major events and contesting a wide variety of races to show the diversity of the bike."

"We are happy to renew our relationship with Ryan and look forward to watching him compete in 2012," Howard concluded.
