Italian KTM rider Romano Fenati fought a hard battle with five other top riders on the Jerez circuit on Sunday to take victory in Round Four of the Moto3 World Championship ahead of Spanish duo Alex Rins and Efren Vazquez.

Romano Fenati‰Ûªs victory was KTM‰Ûªs fiftieth in road racing, marking another milestone for the Austrian sports motorcycle manufacturer.

Fenati rode a strong race and was up in the top three in the opening laps from a tenth place on the grid. It is his second consecutive Moto3 victory.

‰ÛÏIt was a difficult start coming from tenth on the grid but I tried to push every lap‰ÛÏ, Fenati said. ‰ÛÏI thought it was going to be Rins in front going into the last corner. The bike was fantastic today.‰Û

Honda took two out of three podium positions in a close finish, with the first three riders over the line within less than two tenths of a second, and the top six within less than two seconds.

It was Efren Vazquez (SaxoPrint-RTG Honda) and Alex Rins (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda) who rounded out the podium in second and third place respectivley

‰ÛÏAfter Argentina I am very happy to finish second here." Vazquez stated. "I thought I had the chance to win today.

"I made a really good start and pushed every lap, but also understanding it was a really long race and there was the need to keep the tyres. In the end I tried to push for victory, but Moto3 is always ‰Û_ interesting in the last corner, and I was able to take second.‰Û

Australia's Jack Miller stated the race with his third consecutive pole position was with the lead group the whole way but tried to conserve tires on a very hot track surface.

In the end he was unable to get through the traffic in front to challenge the top three. It was the first time this season that the Australian has been off the podium.

‰ÛÏI had saved my tires enough to fight and I felt confident that I could overtake the top three riders." Miller explained. "But Vi̱ales got past me, went wide again and pushed me so far off-line that I couldn't make up the ground.

"I think I could have finished on the podium, because I had been very good at braking on the last corner and had great agility on the bike. I was also by far the fastest on most corners and was overtaking well, except in the straight and the tricky turn eleven.‰Û
It was another tough outing for Australia's Arthur Sissis
It was another tough weekend for Australia's second rider in the class, Arthur Sissis. The South Aussie was forced to retire early in the race due to a mechanical issue

"This morning‰Ûªs warm-up was good, and also the warm-up lap." Sissis commented. "I had no problems, and I made a good start, going outside four riders into the first corner ‰Û_ but at the second I couldn‰Ûªt down-shift properly.

"The problem persisted: I was last and losing time, so I went into the pits. I hope my luck will change soon."

The next round of the competition is the GP of France at Le Mans on May 18
