RJ Hampshire edged ever closer to his first 450 Class overall podium with a determined fourth-place finish at Round 6 of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at RedBud, continuing a steady climb through the ranks since stepping up to the premier class.

Hampshire was in the mix from the outset, qualifying fifth before charging to a third-place finish in the opening moto, featuring patriotic red, white, and blue livery for the 4th of July weekend. Despite a tough start in Moto 2 that left him buried in the pack, the 29-year-old clawed his way through to sixth, securing fourth overall on the day.

“Awesome day at RedBud!” Hampshire said. “I felt good on the bike and I actually had a bit of that send-it kind of vibe on the 450. First moto, I almost got the holeshot and ran up front for a while, which was a good feeling. Bad start in Moto 2, but I came through the pack fast. Overall, it was a big learning day for me. I said this is kind of where I’d be at this point, and we’re getting there. The next goal is to hit an overall podium, which we’ll work towards next weekend at Millville.”

Hampshire’s latest result sees him maintain sixth in the championship standings and build momentum heading into the second half of the season.

Hampshire’s Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Teammate Malcolm Stewart also had a solid outing at RedBud, carding 11-10 finishes for eighth overall. The number 27 praised the crowd and committed to building on the result heading into Millville.

“RedBud was a blast!” Stewart said. “I always love the energy here – the fans were unreal, as always. I gave it everything I had and came away with eighth overall. We’ll keep digging and head to Millville next… It’s time to face the Whoop Monster!”
