Honda Australia have announced that they have re-signed star female rider Rebecca Lipsett to the 2006 No Fear Honda Team where she will contest the Women‰Ûªs Motocross Championships, as well as take on a variety of media and promotional roles throughout the year.

Bec was first signed to ride for Honda in 2004, and has continued to prove that she has both the riding skills and media savvy to be an excellent representative for the company both on and off the track. In addition to the Australian Motocross Championships, Bec will ride her CRF250X in the Victorian Thumpercross Series as well as the Australian 4 Day Enduro next year. She will also be seen once again as a roving reporter at the Supercross Masters series, as well as at Honda Riders Club mini bike days, Honda SMART riding schools and as a guest commentator on MXTV. Rebecca will continue to be the 'face' of the Honda women‰Ûªs clothing line, and will also attend all major events throughout the year on behalf of the company including the Australian Motorcycle Expo in Melbourne, the World Superbikes and MotoGP at Phillip Island. Prior to the end of this year, the 26 year old Victorian will be one of the headline attractions at the Sydney Motorcycle Show where she will be at the Honda stand to sign autographs. She will also be competing in the Supermotard event on the Saturday night after the show, along with team mate Craig Anderson, both of whom will adapt their Honda CRF250 machines especially for the event. After winning the Women's title in 2003, Bec joined the No Fear Honda Team as the first female factory backed rider in the country. In 2004, she finished fourth in the women‰Ûªs class after a difficult season hampered with injury. This year in the absence of a women's series, the Victorian based qualified accountant continued to train hard and compete alongside the men in the National Cup where, as one of only two women in the field, she had some excellent results. As is so often the case, Rebecca was first introduced to the male dominated activity of motocross by her older brother, Richard. "I was 15 and Richie started riding so I just followed him," she said. It wasn‰Ûªt long before Rebecca‰Ûªs talent became apparent with her brother staying involved as her mentor and mechanic. An accountant with major firm Ernst and Young, Rebecca has managed to juggle her two professions thanks to a very understanding employer. "I suppose you could say I‰Ûªm battling two stereotypes at once; that accountants are all boring and that young women wouldn't be interested in motorcycles," she said. "Being involved with Honda has been one of the highlights of my career so far. I'm given the opportunity to train with some of the best riders in the world, as well as have access to the best bikes and technical advice. I've also met some great people in the industry and in the public through my media and promotional activities, and am really thrilled to be able to do it all again in 2006." With final team line-up still to be decided, Rebecca will join Craig Anderson, Cody Cooper and Craig's younger brother Danny who have all now been confirmed to ride for the Team in 2006.
