The Raceline Husqvarna Tdub Racing Team showed plenty of potential across the opening two rounds of the 2025 AUSX Supercross Championship at Redcliffe’s Kayo Stadium in Queensland, with SX2 riders Reid Taylor and Travis Olander experiencing a weekend of highs and lows.
Taylor was quick from the outset in the SX2 class, qualifying seventh for Round 1 and charging to a strong fourth place in the first of two Finals on Saturday. He looked poised for another solid result in race two, running up front for most of the moto before disaster struck in the closing stages. A late-race collision with another rider left the 21-year-old with a broken wrist, ending his weekend early. Taylor withdrew from Sunday’s racing and is set to undergo surgery this week.

Meanwhile, teammate Olander continued to rebuild his form after injury, showing solid progress across both nights of racing. On Saturday, he posted a top-15 result in the second race after an unfortunate DNF in the first Final. Returning on Sunday, Olander qualified 14th and battled hard through the pack to claim 12th in the opening SX2 Final before improving to 10th in race two, securing 12th overall for the round.
Reflecting on his weekend, Olander said, “We made progress throughout the weekend and that was the goal entering rounds one and two. It was unfortunate to DNF race one on Saturday, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Sunday was a good rebound to be fighting in the top 10, and I would say that this was definitely a confidence booster as we target more results for the upcoming rounds. A big thanks to Todd and the team for all the support.”

In the SX3 class, Jake Rumens made his AUSX debut with a 13th-place finish on Saturday aboard his Husqvarna FC 250, while Husqvarna-supported rider Jack Deveson put in two strong rides, finishing sixth on Saturday before stepping up to second place on Sunday.
Team manager Todd Waters described the weekend as a mix of positives and setbacks. “Redcliffe was an up-and-down weekend for us,” he said. “Reid was riding so well on Saturday, and to have it all taken away right at the end – when he was contending for a podium – is gut-wrenching for him and the entire team, and he unfortunately broke his wrist in the incident. Travis executed the plan we had for him pretty well. We knew he’d be building back toward form, and that’s exactly what he did by finishing with a top 10 in the second SX2 race. We’ll regroup now and come out strong in Cronulla.”
Despite the challenges, the Redcliffe double-header highlighted the team’s pace and determination, setting a strong platform for the remaining rounds of the 2025 AUSX Supercross Championship.
