Qld Women gear up for Finland ISDE

Posted:

Queensland's Jemma Wilson and Alison Parker have been selected to represent Australia at the International Six-Day Enduro which is set to be held from the 8th of August through to the 13th in Finland.

The ladies will be riding in a team of 3 alongside New South Wales rider and current Australian 4-Day Enduro Champion Jessica Gardiner who will be competing in the ISDE for the first time.

Riders competing in the event will be faced with approximately 1,500km of tough trails over 5 days and will then finish the event at the Karhula Motocross track for the final moto.

Wilson and Parker represented Australia in 2009 International Six-Day Enduro held in Portugal. Both riders finished the event in good positions and together with their team mate Jacqui Jones, the Australian Women's team finished in 3rd position.

"The 2009 ISDE in Portugal was amazing", stated Wilson.

"The trails were fun and there was a variety of tests; just being part of an event like the ISDE is crazy".

Female riders from all over the world are gathering in Finland to compete in the event. Parker, Wilson and ISDE rookie Gardiner have been showing some incredible form heading into the event and have their eyes set on the podium.

"I am so lucky to be part of the team for a 2nd time," said Wilson.

"This year we have a really strong team once again and I would love to be podium, but we'll just have to wait and see".
