QBE Insurance Australia Backs Australian Speedway GP
QBE Insurance Australia will serve as title sponsor of the Southern Hemisphere‰Ûªs biggest indoor motorsport event ‰ÛÒ the QBE Insurance Australian FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Melbourne‰Ûªs Etihad Stadium on October 22.

The Sydney-based insurer has signed a two-year deal to become a huge part of the FIM Speedway World Championship finale, which pulled a terrific 26,000-strong crowd when it launched in Australia‰Ûªs sporting capital last October.

With home heroes Chris Holder and Jason Doyle bidding for gold, along with Aussie-raised defending champion Tai Woffinden, it‰Ûªs set to be an epic night of action for local and travelling fans alike.

Etihad Stadium Acting Chief Executive Officer Michael Green says QBE‰Ûªs involvement offers invaluable support with the cost of transporting the sport‰Ûªs biggest stars Down Under and constructing a world-class race track.

"We‰Ûªre absolutely delighted that a leading insurer such as QBE has demonstrated confidence in our event and come on board as the naming rights partner," Green said.

‰ÛÏI know everyone from the event organiser and rights holder BSI Speedway in the UK to the riders and our own team, including the track builders, are thrilled with the very tangible support of QBE. It helps to build credibility and stability and we couldn‰Ûªt be happier with the arrangement.‰Û
