ProMX Announce 2022 Season Opener Will Once Again Be At Wonthaggi

Posted:

The 2022 Penrite ProMX Championship will hit the ground running for its second season in Wonthaggi Victoria, on March 27th with the continued strong support of the Bass Coast Council for the 2022 season opener.

Thousands of combined riders, team personnel and passionate race fans will flock to the coastal town of Wonthaggi for the highly anticipated 2022 ProMX season opener, where no doubt the riders, teams, industry and fans will be eager to pick up where they left off with the amazing on-track action from the inaugural 2021 ProMX Championship.

The 2022 ProMX opening round at Wonthaggi will serve as the exciting launch date for an incredible eight round Championship run across eight separate weekends and venues, to begin in March and conclude in August.

Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari said: “On behalf of Council and our community, I am thrilled to welcome back the ProMX Championship to Wonthaggi. Last year’s event was a tremendous success that gave our region a significant economic boost and fantastic exposure.”

“It’s wonderful to be partnering with ProMX once again, to further strengthen our relationship and offer the teams, competitors and fans an even better experience set in our fantastic coastal community”.

Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle, said: “It’s a great sign for the Championship that we have renewed partnerships for our second season, such as this one with the Bass Coast Council. It shows great viability for long term relationships to grow into the future to further strengthen the sport.”

“The heritage and prestige of the Wonthaggi Mx track speaks for itself within the industry and it is a fitting venue to launch the second season of the ProMX Championship after so many positives were achieved in the inaugural year”.

Over the coming weeks and months, further updates and information will be provided and the full 2022 Championship Calendar will be revealed.
