I t was a fast-paced start to the 2018 Australian Off-Road Championship in Miva, near Gympie, Queensland last weekend with two days of enduro-sprint racing.

The Motul Pirelli Sherco Team faced excellent racing conditions with recent rains making the ground perfect for traction and visibility. A stacked field of riders made for intense racing across all classes and the Motul Pirellli Sherco Team riders were in the thick of it all weekend.

Andy Wilksch began the weekend with steady pace aboard his Sherco 300 SE-R. Wilksch ended round one on Saturday in third position, however, slipped back to fifth for round two on Sunday.

‰ÛÏThe track at Miva had everything. Deep sand, grass track and technical rocky sections so it was a good test for my bike setup,‰Û

Sophie Coldicutt had a consistent weekend placing fourth in the Womens‰Ûª class on both days aboard the Sherco 250 SE-R. Despite not making the podium, Coldicutt remained focussed and completed the two rounds of racing determined to improve.

Fellow Sherco rider and motocross convert, Danielle Foot put in an encouraging ride for her first AORC with 8th and 5th place results aboard her Road and River Sherco 125 SE-R.

Rounds three and four the 2018 AORC will be held May 5-6 at Hedley in Victoria.
