Pirelli to debut 2013 Diablo Supercorsa SC DOT racing tyre in Supersport 600 class at ASBK Queensland Raceway

The new 2013 Diablo Supercorsa SC, the DOT racing tyre from Pirelli developed in the World Supersport Championship will make its Australian debut in the Supersport 600 class of the Australian Superbike Championship at Queensland Raceway on June 14-16.

Link International and Pirelli have announced that all riders in the Supersport 600 Class at Round 3 Queensland Raceway of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) who chose to ride on Pirelli tyres, will be able race on the new for 2013 Diablo Supercorsa SC.

The new Diablo Supercorsa SC features include a new tread pattern, improved carcass materials and tyre dimensions for optimum racing performance, combined with the latest SC0, SC1 and SC2 compounds developed in the World Supersport Championship.

All Pirelli riders in the Supersport 600 class will be able to use this new tyre at the Queensland Raceway round. Sizes will remain 120/70ZR-17 front and 180/60ZR-17 rear in this new 2013 version, and is already homologated with Motorcycling Australia.

Evidence of the performance of the new range is that at round 1 of the 2013 World Superbike Championship held recently at Phillip Island, 2012 World Supersport Champion Kenan Sofuoglu used the standard SC1 180/60ZR-17 Diablo Supercorsa rear tyre to take the World Supersport 600 race victory, plus recording his fastest lap of the race on the final lap.

‰ÛÏWe had always planned to release the new version of the Diablo Supercorsa SC to ASBK series Supersport 600 riders once the full range was available in Australia, so we are very pleased to now make this new tyre available to all riders who choose Pirelli to race Supersport 600 at a national level," said Don Nicholas, National Manager Pirelli Moto at Link International.

"We are also pleased to debut this new tyre in the ASBK series. We were excited to take an early race win with Aaron Morris (Yamaha) in the Supersport 600 Class at Phillip Island on the 2012 Diablo Supercorsa SC, so we look forward to building on these results with Australian racers in the Supersport 600 class on the new 2013 Diablo Supercorsa SC range.‰Û
