Pascuet for International Two Day Super Trial

Posted:

Brilliant Spanish rider Jordi Pascuet is the latest big-name signing for the 2005 International Two Day Super Trial, to be held at Sedgwick, near Bendigo (Vic) on November 5-6. The 26-year-old, a member of Spain's 2005 Trial des Nations-winning combination, is a dual world No. 10, and will ride a Gas Gas in the unique event alongside reigning European champion Shaun Morris and locals Michael Byrne and 15-year-old protÌ©gÌ© Kyle Middleton. Five manufacturers ‰ÛÒ Montesa, Gas Gas, Sherco, Beta and Scorpa ‰ÛÒ will compete in the Super Trial, each represented by two international and two local riders. Pascuet, who has been competing in the world trials title since 1998 ‰ÛÒ the year he was also European champion ‰ÛÒ is currently in Brazil, and will make his way to Australia full of assurance. "I am very much looking forward to coming to Australia, although I am disappointed I will not be able to ride in the Australian championship the week before the Super Trial," said Pascuet, who was one of six Spanish riders to finish in this year's world top 10. "However, I will ride my best at the International Trial and I hope we can come out on top." The Australian Gas Gas importers, Mal and Jill Loone, are delighted to have attracted both Morris and Pascuet to antipodean shores. "We were thrilled and excited to have Shaun, the world No. 14, in our team, but then to also get Jordi‰Û_ is beyond our dreams," enthused Mal. "Not only will the action be awesome, but the competition between them and James Dabill, the world junior champion, is going to be terrific. "It is going to be fascinating to see who will come out on top." The full 20-rider line-up for the International Two Day Super Trial will be announced very shortly. Tickets for the event can be obtained by visiting www.supertrial.org or by telephone on (03) 5439 6333.
