A current GP racer, a former GP racer and a future GP racer all have one thing in common, they each plan to keep New Zealand on the podium in Europe. The three men -- Motueka‰Ûªs Josh Coppins, Hamilton‰Ûªs Darryll King and Warkworth‰Ûªs Hamish Dobbyn -- intend that New Zealand becomes the pre-eminent motocross nation on the planet before too much longer. If Yamaha trio Coppins, King and Dobbyn have their way, traditional powerhouses such as Belgium, France, Italy and the United States will be elbowed elbowed aside in favour of New Zealand. It could be said there‰Ûªs an 89% chance that Coppins will win the top prize, the MX1 world title, this year and also that he‰Ûªll push onward to again head the pack in Europe during the final year of his world championship career in 2008. Coppins is 89 points in front of his nearest challenger in this year‰Ûªs MX1 title chase -- the Kiwi set to take over the mantle once held by Belgian motocross legend Stefan Everts -- with the series just 12 races from the finish. With mentoring from former world championship contender King, 15-year-old Dobbyn could be well-placed to fill Coppins‰Ûª boots in just a few years. ‰ÛÏI want to be a world champion,‰Û
