NSW Sprint/ X-Country Series gets off to perfect start

Posted:

Central Coast Dirt Riders hosted rounds 1 & 2 last weekend of the NSW Sprint/ X-Country Series. Conditions were perfect with the rain leading up to the weekend. Saturday morning the clouds lifted and a perfect blue sky greeted the riders to a perfectly primed track. With a 130 strong riders geared up and ready to ride, the Central Coast Dirt Riders 4km Sprint Course covered half of the Cessnock Moto x track, with a great Enduro course. The club ran the whole event on transponders which worked brilliantly, with even 2 Victorian Enduro Committee representatives present the whole weekend to see how they work live in an Enduro. Instant results, fastest lap times, position in class and outright were instantaneous. 6 heats ran over Day 1 Sprint, with Chris Hollis and Jarrod Bewley battling it out all day. There was strong competition in the PRO E2 class, with Chris and Jarrod taking out the fastest lap times. Hollis edging the win over the day with Jarrod by a overall 7 second lead. At the end of the day the CCDR altered the course for the X-Country for the Sunday. Riders briefing then a parade lap, followed by a mild dust storm. The water truck was on hand to saturate the grounds before the Sunday. Sunday X-Country format was a 4.8km loop. The weather was overcast and a bit cooler for the clubman to kick off the day. 2 Hours straight allowing 15 laps. Scott Keegan blitzed the pack with a 3 minute lead over Dylan Bohane. Pro Riders had 2.5 hours allowing 20 Laps, Chris Hollis, Jarrod Bewley, Geoff Braico taking out the top 3 outright positions. The CCDR crew worked hard on the back of the course where it was a bit boggy for the riders, some did get stuck, but some just always got that perfect line straight through and didn't falter once. There was a lot of tired and weary faces at the end of the day. Full results for the weekend can be viewed on mylaps.com.au, or copy and paste this link https://www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=280714 Photo's will be available soon so keep watch on www.ccdr.com.au .
