Nine Titles Caps A Spectacular KTM Junior Nationals Campaign.

Posted:

KTM Australia‰Ûªs passion for competition and the advancement of Australian motorcycle sport has ensured a memorable first effort as naming rights sponsor of the KTM Australian Junior Motocross Titles.

The week-long event, which concluded on Saturday at Horsham in Victoria, saw almost 350 competitors take part to crown 13 Australian Champions.

Nine of those champions were KTM racers, including Wayde Carter (15yrs 250cc), Kaleb Barham (14-U16 BW 85cc/150cc), Chelsea Carter 12-16 BW 85/150cc, Wade Kirkland 12-U14 BW 85/150cc, Mason Rowe 9-U12 SW 85cc, Rhys Budd 11-U13 65cc, Jett Lawrence 9-U11 65cc, Brad West - 65cc - 7/u9 years and Deegan Mancinelli 7-U9 50c Div 2.

KTM Australia has a long history grooming talented youngsters to become stars of tomorrow, as evidenced by the recent Aussie MXoN team, in which both Brett Metcalfe and Todd Waters were former KTM Juniors.

Off the track, KTM threw its weight behind several key features which added value for not only competitors, but also supporters, friends and family at home ‰Û_wherever home may have been.

KTM partnered with My Sport Live to produce KTM TV, a one-hour ‰Û÷panel‰Ûª show on Thursday, featuring some of KTM‰Ûªs most notable faces, followed by a live commentary across the entire final day of competition as the new raft of Aussie junior champions was crowned.

A competitor-support presence at the event included the KTM Technical Service truck for setup advice and support as well as the KTM Spare Parts Service (in conjunction with Geelong‰Ûªs Moto Tech KTM).

Motorex KTM race team physiologist Tim Cole and Motorex KTM Team Manager and KTM Technical Services Manager for Australia and New Zealand Rob Twyerould were also there offering advice to competitors.

Horsham MCC President Kenny Watts pronounced himself very pleased with the event and the support and involvement of KTM Australia.

‰ÛÏEveryone‰Ûªs been saying to me that this has been the best Aussie titles ever." Watts said. "I pushed for KTM to be the sponsor because as a major player in junior racing I knew they wouldn‰Ûªt be happy to just put their name on it.

‰ÛÏThe tech services truck helped keep a lot of riders in the race when they ran into trouble, and the podcasting and live streaming impressed a lot of people, and gave opportunities for the riders‰Ûª friends and families who couldn‰Ûªt come to the event to follow their progress in the finals.

‰ÛÏIt was where we hoped to take the event and it was all positive stuff.‰Û
