The FIM has confirmed that Mayfield Sports Events Ltd will take over global promotional responsibility for the FIM Speedway Grand Prix, Speedway of Nations, and Speedway World Cup from 2026, replacing Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe.
While WBD steps back from its promotional role, it will remain the sport’s global broadcaster and distributor, ensuring fans can continue to follow the action via Eurosport, TNT Sports, HBO Max, discovery+ and existing sub-license partners.
FIM President Jorge Viegas praised WBD for its work over the past three years, noting its decision to focus on broadcasting created the opportunity to bring in “reliable and competent promoters” to take the series forward.
Richard Coleman of Mayfield Sports Events described returning to speedway as “an honour and a pleasure” and said the company’s priority will be to put fans at the heart of the experience, improve the show, and ensure the sport has “an exciting and sustainable future.”
Based near Silverstone, Mayfield already has strong ties with motorsport, having worked with WBD to stage the FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Cardiff in 2023 and 2024, an event that earned the FIM Speedway Local Organiser of the Year award in 2023.
The change means that from 2026, fans can expect a refreshed approach to the presentation and promotion of Speedway GP, while broadcast access remains unchanged.
