New Event Schedule To Be Trialled At 2014 KTM Australian Junior MX Championship

Posted:

Motorcycling Australia (MA) have confirmed that this year's KTM Junior MX Championships (AJMX) will split the week-long event in to two specific groups.

"Group 1 will be 50cc, 65cc and 85cc to riders aged under 12 and Group 2 will be all classes for riders aged 12 and over." a statement released from M.A confirmed.

"With the goal of making the KTM AJMX accommodating for as many junior MX riders as possible, hosts, the Macarthur Motorcycle Club (MCC) will trial a revised schedule of the event.

"In an effort to reduce the overall costs of accommodation and travel on families participating in and spectating the AJMX, the week (27 September to 4 October) will run in two parts with Group 1 competing Saturday and Sunday with finals on Monday morning and presentations completed by lunch time.

"All classes for competitors in Group 2 will then take place for the remainder of the week to conclude on Friday, Saturday will be reserved for any race contingencies.

"The overall cost of attending the event and time spent from home or work will be greatly reduced for many competitors and their families, while those who have children competing in both age groups will be no worse off.

"After six months of negotiation with the local Council, the MCC has been granted, with conditions, permission to allow camping at the venue, splitting the event will facilitate better use of the complex also reduce daily traffic movements in and out of the complex.

"MA together with the MCC would like to stress that the new event schedule is a trial and its effectiveness will be evaluated at the conclusion of the event alongside how well it was received by patrons," the statement concluded.

Further information on the revised schedule will be released closer to the date of the KTM AJMX.
