Mt Buller Motorcycle Adventure's owner David Marsicano will pull on his race boots as he prepares for the Over 35's class in the Enduro-X this weekend at Broadmeadows.
Piloting a Scriven's Racing built CRF450X 'Big Dave' as he is known on the tours, normally leads riders from every experience level through the very picturesque Victorian High Country.
"I am really looking forward to this weekend," said a nervous and excited Big Dave. "I am up against some ex-factory guys, but my aim for the event is to complete a decent lap and have fun."
Nearly every weekend during the season, there is a tour on at Mt Buller, riding everything from single trail to flowing mountain tracks, with sweep riders, support vehicles and up to 20 guests, Big Dave has the ability to confront and navigate some serious obstacles, as well as guiding other riders through whatever challenges arise, however is it enough for this weekend?
"I ride the Buller area often, but Colin and Dave Robbins at Broadmeadows have put together a challenging course, I don't think I can really prepare for what they have built, so it is all about having a good time."
The trails chosen by Mt Buller Motorcycle Adventure's can be challenging for the experienced rider and navigable for the not-so-experienced rider within the magnificent terrain at Mt Buller.
"We have some big rocks and river crossing trails if we choose to ride them at Mt Buller, but you are usually in a small group so if you crash it is low key, but in front of a huge audience expected at this weekend's event anything can and most likely will happen, I hope I am not a television replay moment. I have had great support from Tim at Scriven's in Kerang; I tried to pull him out of retirement for the event but was unsuccessful." he added.
"Without the support from Honda, Scriven's Racing, POD, Ringmaster, Choice Suspension, Ash's Spoked Wheelz, Matrix, B & B Aluminium, Dunlop, Easton, Pro Circuit, and kajx COMMUNICATIONS competing in the Endurocross would not be possible.
