Matt Moss showed why he is the 2013 and 2014 MX1 champion on Sunday with a impressive 3-1 result to take the round win - Credit: Aaryn Minerds

2015 MX1 champion Kirk Gibbs came into the season with little fan fare but quickly reminded the moto world that he will once again be a big title threat in 2016 - Credit: Aaryn Minerds

Dean Ferris looked as though he was going to be the man to take the round win at Horsham until a early race crash put an end to that chance finishing the day in 3rd - Credit: Aaryn Minerds

Second fastest in qualifying, Superpole winner Kade Mosig was fast all day, however a crash that we missed left him to bring home a fighting 4th at days end - Credit: Aaryn Minerds

A puncture in race one while running in the lead pack followed by 3rd in moto 2 left Waters with a handy 5th place start to the 2016 season - Credit: Aaryn Minerds

After spending just a few days getting to know his Husqvarna race bike, Brett Metcalfe continued to get quicker as the day wore on finishing 6th overall at Horsham - Credit: Aaryn Minerds

Small crashes at the start of each race held Daniel Reardon back from battleing with his championship rivals for most of the day carding a 7th overall for the round - Credit: Aaryn Minerds

Dylan Long spent the day battling with his Crankt Honda team-mate Jay Wilson with things looking a little tense on track 7-7 for 8th overall was a solid start for the Victorian - Credit: Aaryn Minerds
