Motul maintains high level sponsorship of ASBK

Posted:

International Entertainment Group (IEG) has announced that Motul Oils' will continue involvement with the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK). Motul Oil is distributed in Australia by Link International and General Manager of Link International, Brenden Stoeckert said that it was a pleasure to be able to continue supporting racing in Australia at such a high level. "Racing at this level is vital to Motul; the riders, teams and their respective machines are being pushed to the highest of limits," Stoeckert said. "Motul is continually trying to improve the reliability and performance of their lubricants and racing provides the perfect environment to test under." After 150 years of refined ingenuity and technology Motul has become a market leader and continues in its tradition of producing superior quality lubricants by turning its technological innovation into real products for the motorcycle world. IEG Director, Yarrive Konsky, has had a long standing relationship with Link International and believes their continued involvement will help lift the profile of racing and racers in Australia. "I have been involved with Link for more than a decade," Konsky said. "At first it was as a privateer Motocross rider, then as an Event Promoter. "They have always been forthcoming in supporting events, privateers and the sport of motorcycling, and their continued support once again highlights their commitment and dedication to Australian Motorcycle Racing." Motul will be the Superpole naming rights sponsor for the Championship as well as the naming rights sponsor of the 125GP category. The Superpole proved a great success in 2009 with both the trackside and TV audiences appreciating the anticipation and intensity of it. The Superpole will run again in 2010 where the top eight qualifiers will line up at each round. 2009 Australian Superbike Champion, Josh Waters, (Team Joe Rocket Suzuki) who rode to victory using Motul Oils, found the Superpole as equally intense as the races themselves. "It was hard; you have to prepare mentally for one flying lap," Waters said. "You have the team, the sponsors, and the crowd watching on and it gets intense. "I must admit the nerves never really settled throughout the Championship - every time I lined up I was nervous! "But as they say if you're not nervous you're not really trying or caring enough, so a few nerves aren't a bad thing." The first round of the 2010 ASBK will be run in conjunction with the first round of the World Superbike Championship on the weekend of 26-28 of February, Phillip Island, Victoria.
