Moto Two Setting Changes Pay Off For Brett Metcalfe at Edmonton

Posted:

Brett Metcalfe has credited setting changes to his Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki for his overall win at round four of the 2013 Canadian Monster Energy MX Nationals held at Edmonton last weekend.

Metcalfe has been the class of the field so far in 2013, however it was his his team-mate and 2012 MX2 Champion, Teddy Maier, who showed that he too is a contender in the big bike class.

In the first moto he showed what he could do, as he grabbed the early lead and rode a flawless race to take his first MX1 moto win over his team-mate.

The second moto would be another battle between the Kawasaki mounted team-mates as Metcalfe would recover from a tenth place start to work his way to the front, while Maier would also be pushing hard to try to take the lead from Jeremy Medaglia.

Eventually Metcalfe would get by both to get out front and Maier would also get by to get into second, where he set out after Metcalfe but Metty would take the checkers to take the moto win and grab the overall win to stretch his win streak out to three races.

‰ÛÏToday worked out really well." Metcalfe commented after his third straight round win. "I‰Ûªm really happy to get out of here with a win.

"Most importantly I just scored good points and had two solid motos for the championship.

"The track wasn‰Ûªt working to my favor for the first half of the day. We made a couple really nice changes that worked really well for the second moto. I‰Ûªm happy to come out of here with the win.‰Û
