It’s been almost a year since Mikkel Haarup put Triumph on the MXGP podium for the first time, and now, Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing has touched down in Argentina, fired up for the 2025 season opener.

With Camden McLellan returning for his second year and Guillem Farres joining the squad, the team is looking strong as they line up aboard the TF 250-X for the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship.

McLellan Ready to Build on a Strong 2024

Camden McLellan had a solid 2024 season, finishing ninth overall in the MX2 World Championship despite missing six rounds due to injury. Before that setback, the South African was a consistent top-five threat, even landing a podium at the brutal sand track of Riola Sardo in Sardinia. Now, with an improved training program and an upgraded race bike, he’s aiming to fight for the MX2 title in 2025.

“I’m feeling really good after a productive off-season,” McLellan said. “We’ve done a lot of testing, made some great improvements to the bike, and I’ve also changed up my training, working with Clement Desalle both on and off the bike. I’m excited to put it all to the test in Argentina. The goal for the season is to be up front, but the first round is all about staying calm and not taking too many risks—there’s a long year ahead.”

Farres Settles In Fast

Since joining the team in October, Guillem Farres has wasted no time getting up to speed. Training with the team in southern Spain, he quickly found a setup he was comfortable with and has since been logging laps on a mix of sand, mud, and hard-pack tracks. Though he has experience racing in both Europe and the U.S., this will be his first full MX2 World Championship season, and he’s eager to make his mark.

“My pre-season has been really good, and I’m excited to get racing,” the Spaniard said. “The team has been super welcoming, and once I got comfortable on the bike, I didn’t really need to change much. This year is going to be a big challenge with so many races and some tracks I’ve never been to, but that’s exciting for me. I know that if I ride to my potential, the results will come. The first round should be interesting since it’s a new track, so no one has an advantage there—my goal is to put solid points on the board.”

The Team is Ready to Race

With a full off-season of testing behind them, the team is confident heading into its second year in MXGP. Team manager Vincent Bereni says the atmosphere within the squad is great, and both riders are feeling strong.

“Our winter training has been really positive,” Bereni said. “Camden and Guillem get along really well, and that makes for a great team environment. They’ve been working with Clement (Desalle) in the off-season, and everything has been really encouraging. We’ve refined the race bikes to comply with the new sound regulations and made some chassis improvements for better handling. The package we had last year was already strong, but now it’s even better, and the riders are happy. Now, it’s time to go racing. With the experience we gained last year, we’re in a much better position for 2025. Everyone’s excited to get started in Argentina, and both riders have what it takes to be up front.”

A Long Season Ahead

After kicking things off in Argentina this weekend, the MX2 World Championship will take the team to 17 other countries across four continents, wrapping up in Darwin, Australia, on September 21.
