Minister For Sport, John Eren, Tour Broadford State Motorcycle Complex

Victoria's Minister for Sport, John Eren, toured Broadford‰Ûªs State Motorcycle Sports Complex ‰ÛÒ the most comprehensive motorcycle sport facility of its kind in Australia - yesterday, Wednesday, July 29.

Mr Eren met Motorcycling Victoria‰Ûªs Chief Executive Officer, Mr Wayne Holdsworth, and Broadford‰Ûªs Operations Manager Mr Robert Mestrom to tour the complex‰Ûªs vast array of tracks and circuits suitable for speedway, dirt track, arenacross, motocross, moto-trials and enduro.

The Minister was suitably impressed with the venue.

"The State Motorcycle Sports Complex is an impressive facility that caters to all forms of motorcycle sport. I commend everyone who is working hard to make it an ever better venue."

Mr Eren was also there to gain an understanding of the planned upgrades at the venue. In October 2014, Motorcycling Victoria received a game-changing $550,000 grant from the Victorian Government to support a $1.1 million upgrade.

The upgrade, which was guaranteed irrespective of whoever won last year‰Ûªs State Election, will be for a new administrative building for MV, which will also house a museum and community centre. Preliminary designs for the building are already being drawn-up.

"The upgrade will help ensure the State Motorcycle Sports Complex continues to draw competitors, families and supporters from all over Victoria and beyond," Mr Eren added.

MV‰Ûªs CEO, Mr Wayne Holdsworth, thanked Mr Eren for touring the complex and for sharing MV‰Ûªs vision of Broadford.

‰ÛÏThe State Motorcycle Sports Complex is an essential venue for motorcycle sport not only in Victoria but the country,‰Û
