Mildura locals Nick Waters and Benjamin Brooks claimed the state‰Ûªs top prizes in dirt track Sunday during an action-packed 2014 Exposed Signage & Apparel Victorian Senior & Junior Dirt Track Championships at Mildura‰Ûªs Jambaroo Park.
Riders battled not only each other but scorching temperatures and on-track incidences that saw the meeting run into the early hours of Monday morning.
Defending 2013 450cc Pro Open champion Rowan Tegart finished second overall, which he said was the most-competitive class in years.
‰ÛÏThe heat was the biggest killer. It was 36 degrees so it was a challenge for all of us." Tegart commented ‰ÛÏI picked-up a third-place in the 450cc Pro Open class and a second-place in the Pro Open class.
There were six riders who could‰Ûªve won it in both finals so it was pretty full-on. It was close the whole way..
Ben Brooks won the 450cc Pro Open class, with Nicholas Waters finishing in second-place. Waters won the Pro Open, with his brother Brodie Waters, finishing in third-place.
