Mellross and Wills Primed For Australian Supercross Opener

Posted:

Round one of the 2018 Australian Supercross Championship rolls into Jimboomba, Qld, this Saturday, and the DPH Motorsport Factory Husqvarna Racing Team is ready to hit the track.

Both Dylan Wills and Hayden Mellross have been extensively testing with the team to ensure they've left no stone unturned in their preparation for the gate to drop.

"I've been home for two weeks now and it's been great." Mellross commented. "Seeing my family and friends and riding in my own backyard, doing what I love. I

"'m lucky to be in the position I am, with great support with market-leading brands and products around me and a solid opportunity to succeed, so I'm working hard to give back to everyone that's behind the team and myself when that gate drops."

After missing the final round of the 2018 Motocross championship due to injury, Wills is chomping at the bit to get back behind the gates.

"I can't wait for Saturday to get here!" Wills enthused. "I've been testing, practising and training for several weeks now, and I want to go racing!

"The FC250 is a great bike, and, paired with products from all our sponsors including Dunlop, WP, Motorex, Topline, Vortex, VP Racing, Unifilter, Neken and NGK, it really lifts the bar even further. This bike is easily the best equipment I've ever had, so I'm looking forward to laying it all out there on the track."

Team owner Dale Hocking is also looking forward to getting the Supercross season underway.

"The race bikes are packed and the truck is on its way to Jimboomba for round one." Hocking said. "It's no secret that I love supercross; our entire DPH crew does. The excitement, the crowd, the spectacle and the close racing.

"I know that both Dylan and Hayden are motivated more than ever to do well and they've been working hard to ensure they are prepared for whatever is thrown at them come Saturday.

"I wanted to take the opportunity to thank Jarrod and Boyd for their work behind the scenes to get things ready, along with all our partners. If it wasn't for your support, we simply couldn't go racing, so thank you."

The gates open at 10am this Saturday (15/09/2018), with pits open from 1:30pm and racing from 2:30pm, so if you're heading to round one, make sure you come and say hi to the DPH Motorsport Factory Husqvarna Racing Team. For those unable to make it, the round will be available to watch after racing concludes via the Jimboomba x Stadium YouTube chanel
