Australian star Max Fricke has withdrawn from the QBE Insurance Australian FIM Speedway Grand Prix in Melbourne due to consecutive concussions.
The Victorian racer crashed out of heat 15 in the NICE Torun SGP of Poland on Saturday after tangling with Martin Vaculik. He was excluded from that race and withdrew from the rest of the meeting.
This comes as a further injury blow to Fricke following a heavy crash in Vetlanda on August 1, which left him sidelined for a month with fractures to the winglets of his C6 and C7 neck vertebrae.
He will now be unable to take his place in the season finale at Etihad Stadium and a replacement will be confirmed in due course.
