As the Wellard/GYTR/Yamaha team converged on the Shrubland Park circuit in Bunbury, WA, Mother Nature also sent two storm fronts to greet them.
With overnight rain and destructive winds that made the pits look like a scrap metal dealer with the amount of destroyed Quickshades the sun came out the next morning like nothing had happened.
With little more than remnants of the night before the deep sand absorbed the massive deluge and the scene was set for a great days racing.
Mat Fabry (Five Star Yamaha) was intent on staking his claim to both Championships on offer and set about doing exactly that. Still suffering from a hip and back issues, Fabry is far from being 100% and toughed out the deep Bunbury sand to take a clean sweep in the 125cc class and go 2, 2, 1 aboard his YZF250.
‰ÛÏI managed to get good starts in all my races which made things a lot easier than riding through the pack so I am really happy with the results. I did what I had to do and got the job done which means I am now leading in the 125 and 250F championships‰Û
