Bee Firm NRG/Yamaha rider Mat Fabry (Five Star Yamaha) used the Tumblegum two day meeting for a bit of practice before the first West Australian State Motocross Championship round at the iconic Cosy Creek circuit in Manjimup over the Easter weekend.
With the Launch of Yamaha‰Ûªs potent new 65cc at the event it was just the hit out Fabry was looking for after graduating from seven years with Yamaha‰Ûªs National Junior Development program.
Fabry who will ride a YZ250F in MX2 is looking for good results to start his senior career after being a multiple time state Junior Champion and capturing an Australia 125cc title in 2015. His results and professionalism in juniors saw him drafted into SRD‰Ûªs Yamaha backed senior program and he hopes to gain some quick momentum learning from MX1 team mates
Josh Adams and
Michael Mahon.
I was happy to start the season off with a positive result, winning the MX2 class by going six from six here today. I felt good on the bike all weekend and my YZ250F handled well everywhere.
Over the weekend Fabry managed to clean sweep all six races and claim top spot of the podium. On a technical track that had doubles, hilly drop offs, technical sections and fast straights he managed to power his Yamaha first to the finish line to collect the six wins for the weekend.

"I need to thank
Darren Thompson from Yamaha Australia for the suspension it was just awesome and with Manjimup just around the corner I‰Ûªm definitely feeling better than I did a year ago when I was returning from injury‰Û
