“I managed to get up most of the hills without any problem and that helped me to conserve as much energy as possible,” Lettenbichler said.

Manuel Lettenbichler is on a winning streak, notching up his fourth consecutive victory in this year’s FIM Hard Enduro World Championship with an impressive win at Red Bull Outliers in Canada.

Lettenbichler kicked things off with a commanding win in the prologue, followed by a remarkable performance that led him to the top of the podium in the main race. This victory further solidified his lead in the 2023 series standings. While Billy Bolt secured the second spot, Trystan Hart showcased his skills on home ground to secure a well-deserved third place. The Sherco duo of Mario Roman and Wade Young completed the top five, finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

The action at Red Bull Outliers on Saturday treated fans to an intense endurocross-style prologue right in downtown Calgary. Navigating through the heats and semi-finals, Lettenbichler exhibited smooth and consistent riding, tackling the challenging course obstacles with finesse. This strategic approach paid off as he maintained his composure in the final run, clinching victory and three valuable championship points.

Manuel Lettenbichler has it four wins out of four races in this year’s FIM Hard Enduro World with a dominant victory at Red Bull Outliers in Canada.

Sunday’s main race, set in the Canadian Badlands, saw Lettenbichler starting from pole position. He quickly gained momentum alongside his championship rival, Billy Bolt, creating a noticeable gap between them and the rest of the field. By the third lap, Lettenbichler had extended his lead over Bolt, skillfully maneuvering through steep and slippery hill climbs with minimal errors.

As he triumphantly reached the final climb towards the finish line, Lettenbichler secured an impressive win, with a 41-second lead over Bolt, maintaining his perfect win record.

Reflecting on his victory, Manuel Lettenbichler expressed his elation, stating, “I’m so happy to take the win here in Canada, it feels awesome! I managed to get up most of the hills without any problem and that helped me to conserve as much energy as possible. I bent my handlebars pretty good on one of the last uphills so that was a bit of a worry. Being the first to reach some of the sections was a bit of a disadvantage because it was so slippery. Four wins in a row now, I’m speechless.”

Billy Bolt secured a hard-fought second place finish after a determined battle with Manuel Lettenbichler.

Despite giving his all to challenge Manuel repeatedly, Billy Bolt found it challenging to make a successful pass. Despite an intense effort on the final climb, he fell just short and settled for the second position.

Sharing his thoughts on his performance, Bolt said, “It’s been a good race and a great weekend. Finishing second in the prologue and runner-up in the main race has been solid. I would have loved to win the prologue having won both my heat races, but a crash at just the wrong time cost me. For the main race I knew it was going to be tough. There were a lot of big slippery climbs, and we were racing in some serious heat. I had a good start with Mani, and we rode together early on. I had a few mistakes throughout, but generally I was happy with my riding. On the final lap I had one big mistake that allowed Mario to close the gap to me, but I managed to recover and get some breathing room coming into the final big section. I got onto Mani’s wheel there but had pushed a bit hard and just didn’t have an answer to him at the end.”

Entering the main race, Trystan Hart aimed to replicate his 2022 performance and fiercely contest for victory right up to the final hill. However, a challenging start put him at a disadvantage, forcing him to exert himself to regain ground. Ultimately, he fought his way to secure the third spot on the podium in front of his home crowd. This achievement has positioned him third overall in the HEWC standings.

Reflecting on his performance, Hart shared, “Not the result I wanted to get here at my home race, but I have to be happy with a podium. The prologue didn’t go my way – I made a few too many mistakes there, and today was the same. I got caught up in the mayhem early on and was chasing the whole way after that and it really took everything out of me. It’s great to get onto the podium in front of all my home fans, I just wish it was a couple of steps higher.”

The FIM Hard Enduro World Championship’s journey continues with round five at Hixpania Hard Enduro in Spain from October 12 to 15.
