Maddy Brown Leads A Yamaha 1-2 Result At Australian Women’s MX Championship

Posted:

The Victorian Yamaha duo of Maddy Brown and Emma Milesevic gave Yamaha a stunning 1-2 finish at the 2014 Australian Women‰Ûªs Motocross Championship, held at Horsham over the weekend.

YZ250F mounted Brown, won her maiden national Women‰Ûªs championship over a gruelling weekend at Horsham. The championship was contested over five motos throughout the weekend and Brown ended up claiming the championship by two points over Milesevic.

Brown took control of the championship early in the piece winning the opening three motos and create a handy points‰Ûª gap over her rivals. All she needed was some smart and incident free riding in the final two motos and the championship was hers.

But race four tossed a spanner in the works and after being well down the field in the early stages, Brown clawed her way back to third place and a top three in the final moto was all that stood between her and a championship. She managed to make that happen and her 1-1-1-3-3 results saw her cross the finish line with fist in the air.

‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm so pumped to be able to win this weekend." Brown said with excitedly. "I set myself a goal to make it happen and with plenty of work and the help of my family and some great sponsors, we were able to make it come true.

‰ÛÏCongratulations to the other girls on some awesome racing and also the people and Horsham club who put together a national championship for women.

‰ÛÏI have so many people I would like to thank, everyone from Yamaha Australia, Peter Stevens Motorcycles, SPMX, Fox, The Collective and M.A.D. I can‰Ûªt wait to speak with them all in person as this championship means a lot to me,‰Û

Emma Milesevic put together a great weekend of racing on her YZ250 to make it a Yamaha 1-2 on the podium. Milesevic posted a very consistent 2-2-2-2-1 results over the five races and it left her just two points shy of the win on 163 points.

‰ÛÏWhat a sensational effort for Maddy, Emma and all the girls involved in the championship over the weekend,‰Û
