Luke Burkhart will return to Ausralia this year and compete in the Australian Motocross championship with Shift Motul Suzuki once again. It's all good news for the Kiwi star as he looked like he may not have a ride a few months back. "I have now officially signed a deal to ride for the Shift Motul Suzuki factory team again this year for the Australian Motocross Championships," Burkart said. "I will be riding along side Daryl Hurley in the Pro Open class, we will be riding the brand new 2008 Fuel Injected Suzuki RM-Z 450. I have spent quite a bit of time on the new bike over the last month and it is definitely going to be an awesome bike for me this year. It is a completely new bike from the ground up and I felt really at home on it from the word go. I am super excited to be part of the Suzuki team again this year, its an awesome team with a really professional set up. I am going to work my butt off this year to achieve my goals and do my job for the team. "I am flying to Australia on the 6th of March to spend most of the race season in Newcastle, two hours out of Sydney. My team is based there so I plan on getting a lot of testing and riding done in the aussie conditions before the first round on April 6th in Tasmania. I can't wait to get over there and get into loads and loads more hard work. I have high expectations for myself and aim to be a title contender for sure. I have the bike, the team and the time to achieve that so all I need now is a touch of luck," Burkart added.
