Louis Calvin to race final round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championships

Posted:

2011 Andrew McFarlane Privateer of the year award winner Louis Calvin will be heading over to the UK next month to contest the final round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championships at the world famous Hawkstone Park circuit.

The West Australian received the great news from Boost Energy KTM racing's team principal Steve Turner and is clearly delighted with the news.

"I got the call from Steve overnight and I'm absolutely stoked to get this opportunity. I'm planning on getting there early to do some testing and bike set-up with Chris (Chris Muir - Brad Anderson's mechanic from last year at Manjimup etc) and the rest of the team. I still can't beleive it, I'll be team mates with Martin Barr and Nathan Parker for the day on a great team at one of the most famous tracks in the world....I'm stoked!" Calvin said.

Calvin has worked very hard on his fitness in recent months and is ready for the 3 x 20 min plus 1 lap motos but he'll be pushing himself extra hard in preparation for this trip.

"My uncle (Michael) keeps changing things up in my training programme and he makes sure I've got nothing left at the end of each session, I'm sure he's trying to kill me! At the moment we're working on pushing hard for the whole distance with only a few minutes recovery before we go again. I'm about sick (literally quite often!) of doing multiple 6km time trial runs but it's all paying off, I've never felt stronger"

"As usual I have so many people to thank, Jeff Leisk at KTM for the new 450, my whole family who continually give me a huge amount of support, sometimes it's hard doing the nationals when you're on the wrong side of 3000km of desert! Thor, Scott goggles, Pirelli and Motul. Thanks also to Kevin Williams for all his support, to Jeff Herbert for the offer of a bike and to everyone who helps out over here in WA".

"Finally, a big shout out to Steve Turner and everyone at Boost Energy KTM Racing, I will give it my best shot and hope for a slice of luck of the good sort along the way!" Calvin concluded.
