Levi Day continues his march forward in BSB Superstock 600 class

Posted:

Australian Levi Day gained a fantastic fifth place finish for his Moto-Brakers Kawasaki team at the third round of the British Superbike Championships in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 class on the weekend held at Oulton Park.

Day settled in well to Oulton Park learning the track and improving his times drastically from the track day he was able to do here. The young Australian got a great start and was away with the front runners and dicing for a podium position until he was forced wide and lost a little of his rhythm.

Gaining his best result of the season so far he is now lying in seventh in the overall Championship standings.

"I'm really pleased with my result here at Oulton, it's a great track and was mega fun to ride and the result showed that." Day stated. "I was running well with the front runners but I got pushed out really wide half way through the race and I rolled off and lost a couple of places.

"I had to settle back down and regroup but by this point the leading bunch had made a break. I was able to set some really good and consistent lap times which helped me push my way forwards and get a healthy solid result," added the rider who hails from Mount Gambier in South Australia.

"I know now I am able to run at the same pace as the front runners so I have to ensure my qualifying is good and try and get some more points on the board," he concluded.

Day will next be in action in the BSB Supersport 600 class at Donington Park as part of a World Superbike round on the 24th to the 26th of May.
