The Lawrence brothers, Jett and Hunter, have parted ways with longtime agent Lucas Mirtl, as confirmed by statements from both parties.
Mirtl, formerly with Wasserman, played a key role in the Lawrences’ rise to prominence, particularly in the U.S. motocross and supercross scenes.
The Lawrence family’s statement, shared via Vital MX journalist Lewis Phillips, confirmed Mirtl’s departure from both their team and Wasserman. Moving forward, Jacob Hayes and Wasserman EVP Travis Clarke will oversee their management.
The Lawrence Brother Statement Reads:
“Over the last two weeks we became suspicious of potentially fraudulent activity related to one of our business accounts. Following an initial investigation, we became aware of and in possession of evidence of misuse and misappropriation of our personal funds by our agent Lucas Mirtl for his benefit and as of 9:00 AM EST this morning we have fired him. Further, Wasserman has fired him as well and we will continue our investigation and turn over all findings to the relevant authorities shortly. Wasserman will continue to represent us with Jacob Hayes and Travis Clarke taking over management duties.”
Wasserman Statement Reads:
“Following an initial investigation, we became aware of evidence of misuse and misappropriation of client funds by Lucas Mirtl, and as of January 23rd Lucas is no longer employed at Wasserman while we continue our investigation. Hunter and Jett Lawrence simultaneously terminated their relationship with Lucas in all capacities, however Wasserman will continue to represent Hunter and Jett with Jacob Hayes and Travis Clarke taking over management duties.”
Mirtl, who played a pivotal role in the Lawrences’ transition from Europe and primaraly MXGP to the U.S. AMA scene in 2019, has made a private statement.
In the private social media post that has since been widely circulated, Mirtl expressed shock and frustration over the allegations, stating he was blindsided by the accusations and not given an opportunity to share his side of the story. He strongly denied any wrongdoing, describing the allegations as an insult to his character and intelligence. Mirtl criticized the handling of the situation, calling it a public attempt to discredit him without due process. He also shared feelings of betrayal by those he trusted and emphasized his contributions to the industry, while acknowledging past mistakes but firmly denying any history of unethical behavior. The post concluded with Mirtl reflecting on the personal toll the situation has taken and his uncertainty about how to move forward.
