Jett and Hunter Lawrence dominated the brutal sands of Southwick, Massachusetts, with another 1-2 punch in the 450 class at round five of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, extending Team Honda HRC Progressive’s grip on the series.
“It was a good day, definitely not an easy one with how rough the track got, but I felt solid,” said Jett Lawrence, who went 1-1 for his fifth straight overall win. “Hunter going 2-2 for second made it even better for the team. And hey, tying James Stewart on the all-time win list? That’s pretty cool. I told him I’m coming for him on the golf course, too!”
The Australian brothers set the tone from the very first gate drop. Jett pulled the holeshot in moto one, with Hunter slotting in right behind. From there, the Aussie duo checked out. Jett built a 10-second gap by halfway, with Hunter keeping the pace high and stretching away from the chasing pack. At the flag, the siblings were separated by 13 seconds, with another 18 seconds back to third.
Moto two saw more of the same. Jett led early and never looked back. Hunter, meanwhile, muscled past Eli Tomac to move into podium contention, then capitalised on a crash by Jorge Prado to take over second. He held off a late charge from Tomac to lock in another runner-up ride, 20 seconds behind his brother.
“I’m just putting in work—always trying to get stronger and improve,” said Hunter Lawrence, who now sits just five points behind Tomac in the championship standings. “Honestly, I’m getting sick of seeing No. 18 up on top of the podium, so it’s time to fight back! I’ll give it another crack next Saturday at RedBud.”

The result marks Jett’s 20th career 450 overall win—tying him with legends James Stewart and Jeff Stanton for eighth on the all-time list. It was also his third win at Southwick, moving him into a tie for third for most wins at the venue, behind only Carmichael and Stanton.
Team manager Lars Lindstrom was full of praise for his riders: “I’m totally stoked on Hunter’s strength today, catching and passing a Southwick legend like Eli Tomac is unbelievably impressive. The day, though, belonged to Jett… he was completely superhuman today. He made one of the most difficult tracks in the world look like child’s play.”
As the series heads to RedBud this weekend, Jett Lawrence carries a commanding 38-point lead in the 450 standings, while Hunter Lawrence remains right in the hunt for second. With both brothers in peak form, the second half of the championship promises fireworks.
