Lachlan Stanford Targeting Home Run At Kyogle

Posted:

Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team and Lachlan Stanford is targeting a big weekend as rounds 9 and 10 of the Australian Off-Road Championships unfold in a familiar location at Kyogle 160 kilometres south of Brisbane, in Northern NSW.

Stanford, who last weekend wrapped up the Husqvarna Queensland Sprint Championship at Leyburn, counts Kyogle as one of his favourite and more familiar racing venues, and it‰Ûªs one where he‰Ûªs met with considerable success in the past.

Currently sixth in the AORC overall standings, the Husqvarna FE 450-moiunted Queenslander will look to upset the grading curve during the weekend‰Ûªs 2-day enduro format race.

‰ÛÏKyogle is sort of a home track for me, so I‰Ûªve been looking forward to it the whole time." Stanford stated. "I‰Ûªm good mates with the people who run the event, so I‰Ûªm hoping to have a good showing and get some solid results.

"I‰Ûªve raced at this property before and I‰Ûªve never had a bad result there ‰ÛÒ I‰Ûªve always either won or had a really good finish, so I‰Ûªm confident. My preparation for this event has been good and hopefully I can start impressing some people for next year.‰Û

Team Manager Glenn Kearney continues to lead the E3 class and hold second outright behind Toby Price, and hopes to put the horsepower of his Husqvarna FE 501 to good use on the area‰Ûªs sizeable hills.

‰ÛÏI think everyone had a good time in the sand at Hattah, but we‰Ûªre happy to get back into the bush now." Kearney admitted. "I had a weekend going back to my tracks around home, and getting ready for this one in Kyogle, which we expect to be fairly hard-packed and dusty.

"It‰Ûªs a really nice property, with a lot of grassy paddocks and really hilly ‰ÛÒ a lot of ups and downs. We‰Ûªre in a really solid position in the championship, being 11 points behind Toby.

"Racing can go either way so we‰Ûªll try and stay up there and aim for podiums ‰Û_and wins if possible.‰Û
