Two of KTM Australia‰Ûªs popular Duke R models will be showcased in all their glory by a pair of highly skilled desperadoes at this weekend‰Ûªs final round of the Australian Superbike Championship final at Eastern Creek.
Queenslander Angus Reekie may have had his KTM 1290 Super Duke R‰Ûªs amazing 12-race winning streak in the Naked Bike category come to a crashing halt last time round at Wakefield Park‰Ûªs Round 5, but the eight-time Aussie champ is determined to finish the series the way he started it ‰ÛÒ and rode Round Two, Round Three, Winning.
Entering the Eastern Creek final with a championship deficit and a re-built racebike, Reekie is again thrilled to find his Super Duke R fitting a new circuit like a glove, and he looks forward to fighting all the way to the finish.
‰ÛÏIt‰Ûªs going to be an absolute scorcher this weekend." Reekie said. "But we had a shakedown with the bike a couple of weeks ago and everything went really well, so we're looking forward to it.
"We're really eager to get out there and have a good go at the last one. I'm blown away with the fact that every track we've gone to, the bike has suited it and worked well. It just proves that the 1290 is really solid overall.
"Lukey Luke is here and he‰Ûªs pretty nervous, but he‰Ûªll be right ‰ÛÒ he‰Ûªs on the perfect bike for it as far as I'm concerned. He‰Ûªs a good rider and he‰Ûªs got talent, so he‰Ûªll have no worries at all.‰Û
