Preparations for the 2012 KTM European Junior Cup (EJC) are progressing well, and recent tests with the EJC specification motorcycle have proved it will be a formidable racing machine.
With a dry weight of only 140 kg, top level racing components and a 79 hp power output the KTM 690 Duke provides an excellent balance of manageable power and precision handling for the young racers of the European Junior Cup.
KTM Ambassador Jeremy McWilliams was joined by 2011 European Superstock 600 Champion Jed Metcher in a set-up test at the Spanish Cartagena circuit, and following some fine tuning Jeremy was able to post a highly competitive lap time of 1 minute 41.9 seconds! Both riders finished the test impressed with the KTM's handling and accessible power, confirming its suitability as the ideal race motorcycle for the young EJC riders.
The KTM European Junior Cup championship opens in Assen on April 22, 2012.
