Round 15 of the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross Championship at Lincoln Financial Field delivered decisive moments in both classes, with Ken Roczen taking victory to move into the 450SX championship lead after a dramatic night in wet conditions, while Cole Davies secured the 250SX East Championship with a composed win after taking control early and never looking back
In 450SX, Roczen capitalised on a key night in wet, deteriorating conditions to take victory and the championship lead. Lawrence led early after a holeshot but crashed mid-race and dropped to third, while Cooper Webb finished second as Roczen moved four points clear in the standings.
In 250SX East, Davies took full advantage of Hammaker’s opening-lap crash to assume control of the race and never look back, even through a restart, securing the win and the title. Bennick finished second with a strong ride, while Hammaker recovered to third after charging through the field.
450SX Class
Arriving in Philadelphia, separated by just a single point, the pressure was already at boiling point between Ken Roczen and Hunter Lawrence, with Cooper Webb still within striking distance. Add in deteriorating weather, a technical circuit and the absence of Eli Tomac following his Cleveland qualifying crash, and the stage was set for a pivotal night.
Qualifying provided a window into what was to come, with Justin Cooper topping the timesheets ahead of Hunter Lawrence and Chase Sexton, while rain began to fall just as the final session wrapped up — setting the track up for a slick, unpredictable night show.

Ken Roczen struck first in Heat 1, grabbing the holeshot and controlling the race ahead of Cooper Webb and Hunter Lawrence, while Joey Savatgy and Justin Barcia put on one of the rides of the night in Heat 2. The pair traded block passes and momentum swings lap after lap before Joey Savatgy ultimately came out on top in a last-lap thriller for his first-ever heat win.
When the gate dropped for the main event, it was Hunter Lawrence who made the perfect start, grabbing the holeshot and leading early over his two title rivals. But the momentum shifted quickly. Ken Roczen made his move on lap two, doubling through a rhythm section to take control, and from there, the complexion of the race and the championship began to change.
Lawrence stayed within striking distance through the opening half of the race, knowing the importance of limiting the points damage. But just after the finish line, it all came undone. A crash dropped him out of winning contention, allowing Webb through into second and giving Roczen the breathing room he needed.
From there, Roczen was clinical.
Navigating lapped traffic fully focused, he managed the gap as Webb made a late charge, at one point closing to within a second after setting the fastest laps in the closing laps. But the Suzuki rider responded when it mattered, eeking the margin back out to take his fifth win of the season, and fourth in the last five rounds.

Webb’s runner-up finish marked his third consecutive second place, keeping him mathematically in the title hunt, while Lawrence regrouped to salvage third on the night, a crucial recovery, but not enough to hold onto the red plate.
Behind the podium, Savatgy backed up his heat race win with a season-best fourth, the final rider on the lead lap, while Justin Hill rounded out the top five.
Reflecting on another pressure-filled night, Roczen said the championship tension has become a weekly challenge, explaining, “The pressure has been there for a long time, but now I’m just dealing with it on an every weekend basis.” He added that conditions made the race even more critical, saying, “This was such an important race… in these conditions things can go sideways in a heartbeat.” Roczen credited his team and focus, stating, “I’m so pumped and proud of my crew and myself for putting all this together when it’s really important. Hard work pays off.”
After a late charge for victory, Webb admitted frustration despite another strong result, saying, “It got crazy at the end. I just went full send.” He reflected on how close he came, adding, “I got close at the end, but lappers dictated some of it… I felt like tonight was an opportunity I needed to make the most of and just didn’t quite pull it off.”

Still in the championship fight, Hunter Lawrence said he is using the setback as motivation heading into the final rounds, explaining, “I’ve got a little extra fuel during the week.” He remained upbeat about the closing stages of the season, adding, “I look forward to Denver and Salt Lake City… happy to get out of here in one piece.” Lawrence admitted it was a damage-limitation ride after a mistake, saying, “Once it happens, sometimes the train can go off the tracks… happy to bring it home.”
The result sees Roczen take over the championship lead by four points over Lawrence with just two rounds remaining, marking the first time he’s held the red plate in the latter stages of a Supercross season.

250SX East
The 250SX story coming into Philadelphia was simple: Cole Davies needed just a small points gain over Seth Hammaker to secure the championship. But from the outset, it was clear both riders had no intention of settling.
Hammaker, racing in front of a home crowd, came out firing in qualifying, topping both sessions and laying down the only lap in the 48-second bracket, half a second clear of Davies. The championship leader responded with second overall, using his strength through the whoops to stay within range, while Daxton Bennick slotted into third ahead of last week’s winner, Nate Thrasher.
In Heat 1, Nick Romano grabbed control early and held off late pressure to take his first ever heat win, while Thrasher’s charge ended in the whoops after a late crash. Davies, dealing with a poor start and some wayward roll-offs in his goggles, fought through to third, limiting any early damage.
Heat 2 belonged to Hammaker. After quickly dispatching early leader Ryder Floyd, he checked out to an astonishing 30-second victory, stamping himself as the rider to beat heading into the main event. Daxton Bennick followed him home in second, with Izaih Clark third.
Both title contenders launched well as the gates on the final dropped, with Hammaker and Davies running first and second on the opening lap. But within seconds, everything changed. Hammaker hit a kicker in the opening rhythm section and was sent over the bars, dropping him to dead last and handing the initiative straight to Davies.
From there, Davies took control.

He moved into the lead on lap one and, even after a red flag restart bunched the field back together, never looked threatened. Calm, composed and precise in the deteriorating conditions, he controlled the race from start to finish to claim his fifth win of the season, and with it, the 2026 250SX Eastern Divisional Championship.
Behind him, Bennick delivered one of his best rides of the year. Navigating the tricky track with smart line choices, he secured a season-best second place, fending off a hard-charging Hammaker in the closing stages.
After his opening-lap crash, the Kawasaki rider charged back through the field, and the red flag restart offered a lifeline, bunching the pack and giving him another shot at the podium. By the final lap, he had worked his way into third and was pressuring Bennick for second, a position that would have delayed Davies’ title celebrations.

Pushing for that pass, Hammaker tipped over late and had to settle for third. It was a gritty recovery ride, but not enough to stop Davies from sealing the championship.
Behind the podium, Coty Schock impressed with a fourth-place finish after coming through the LCQ and running in podium contention for much of the race, while Nate Thrasher rounded out the top five.
Reflecting on his title-winning night, Davies said the championship “means everything to me and my family,” adding that “we’ve sacrificed everything to come over here and race in the U.S.” He continued, “all the hard work, the ups and downs, it’s all worth it now. This track was treacherous, but we got it done. A dream come true.”

Daxton Bennick described a demanding night in the Philadelphia conditions, saying “that race was tough,” but credited his Heat Race performance for setting the tone. “I rode good in my Heat Race, so I just kept that momentum going into the Main Event. I knew if I could keep my wheels off the ground as much as I could that would put me in a good spot. I’m glad to be back up on the podium.”
After falling short in the title fight, Hammaker admitted, “I’m definitely bummed. I had big title hopes for this season, but I was racing a tough competitor.” He still acknowledged Davies’ performance, saying, “Congratulations to Cole and his team. He’s been riding unreal this year.” Hammaker added that while the result didn’t go his way, “I felt like I took a step this season… my consistency has improved and I’ve been riding good, but nothing fell into place like I would have hoped.”
The Championship makes its next stop in Denver next weekend for the penultimate round of the 2026 season.
