Ken De Dycker fills in for injured KTM Factory rider Max Nagal

Posted:

KTM have announced that Ken De Dycker of Belgium will ride for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team for the first five rounds of the MX1 World Championship starting on the Easter weekend in Valkenswaard, Netherlands.

De Dycker was planning to start his own team and together with Claudio de Carli, manager of the Red Bull KTM MX1 Factory Racing Team, KTM offer him the possibility to compete in first five rounds. He will stand in as a temporary replacement for the injured Max Nagl.

Having the Belgian rider as a temporary replacement will give Max some additional time to recover from surgery to his back. He is making good progress in his recovery plan however the team wants him to be completely fit before he gets back to the strenuous business of racing.

De Dycker has had his first test on the KTM MX1 bike and according to the team it went very well. Having him available for the first five rounds will give the factory team the benefit of having the usual two rider lineup as well as allowing Nagl some breathing space to fully concentrate on his recovery. The Belgian rider will race in the team together with KTM's current MX1 World Champion Tony Cairoli.
