Junior ATV racing is coming to NSW. Over the past few months, Motorcycling New South Wales (MNSW) has embarked upon a process that will bring the State Controlling Body (SCB) in-line with others, in terms of how they operate within Australian motorcycling sport and ATV racing is just one area to be a beneficiary of change.
MNSW CEO Dave Cooke said, ‰ÛÏI received a call from Darrell Knight, the Chairman of Motorcycling Australia‰Ûªs (MA) ATV Commission, asking if we could talk about why New South Wales (NSW) juniors were excluded from riding ATVs in competition. I told him I wasn‰Ûªt even aware of the restriction, and set about trying to figure out the reason for this. We‰Ûªve moved as quickly as possible to rectify the situation and bring MNSW in line with the National Competition Rules as adopted by the rest of the country. As far as I‰Ûªm concerned, our sport operates on a national basis, and although we administer it mostly on a State level, it‰Ûªs vital for the future of the sport that competitors on the same playing field across Australia.‰Û
