Triumph Racing has confirmed that Jordon Smith will sit out this weekend’s Indianapolis round of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship as he continues recovering from injuries sustained in Arlington.
Smith was running strong in the first Triple Crown race at AT&T Stadium when a crash in the whoops forced him out of the event. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with a punctured lung, four broken ribs, and a small spleen laceration. The injuries prevented him from lining up for the remaining two races, costing him valuable championship points. After entering Arlington just two points behind the leader in second place, he now sits fifth in the 250SX West standings, tied on 85 points with Coty Schock, and is likely to drop further.
Smith has since returned home to begin his recovery, but the severity of his injuries will keep him off the bike for Indianapolis—the first East/West Showdown of the season. With Jalek Swoll and Stilez Robertson already ruled out for the remainder of Supercross, Austin Forkner will be Triumph Racing’s sole rider this weekend.
While Smith’s return timeline remains uncertain, the team hopes to have him back in action for the Seattle Supercross on March 29.
