It's been a year of ups and downs in terms of actual race time, with rounds postponed or cancelled but Queenslander Jemma Wilson has come away woth the 2011 Womens Australian Off Road Championship.

Rounds 5 and 6 of the AORC were held a few weeks ago in SA. Jemma took the win on both days.

"I hadn't won both days of an AORC in a really long time. So I was confident going into rounds 7 and 8 last weekend," Wilson explained.

"I am just absolutley loving riding at the moment, which has a lot to do with the ISDE in Finland last month. Despite DNF'ing on day 5 with a broken chain, and it being the toughest event I have ever attempted, I learned so much and managed to win a few tests outright. I really didn't expect to even come close to winning any tests, so it was a real suprise and a confidence boost." Said Jemma.

Rounds 7 and 8 of the AORC, held at Port Macquarie. Both days were Sprint format with perfect conditions caused by rain on Friday.

"I won by around 40 seconds on Saturday and Jess and I had some crazy close racing on Sunday with Jess winning the day by 9 seconds."

" I am really happy with the outcome of the weekend. I didn't crash all weekend and was riding the best I have ever ridden. Jess and I were starting 2nd and 3rd behind Trent Lean in the Masters class which shows that we are on it."

The last two rounds of the AORC where on October 2 and 3 near Dungog in NSW. Jemma is heading into the final rounds with a 12 point lead over Emelie Karlsson.

Unfortunately, due to heavy weather and poor track conditions, the last two rounds at Dungog in NSW where cancelled, thus the scores leading into this round would be the final scores recorded. This meant Jemma was crowned women's AORC champ for 2011.

Jemma is supported by: Yamaha, Caboolture Motorcycles, Rampant, Fox, Yamalube, GYTR, MSC Steering Dampners, MPE Suspension, Unifilter and FTD Decals.
