Jayden Rykers On Top At Opening Round Of The WAMX 2-Stroke Cup

Hendley Park Byford hosted Round 5 of the Smarter Than Smoking WAMX State Championships, featuring the PerthMX.com 2 Stroke Cup on Sunday the 20th of July.

With forecast rains and stomrs holding off Charlie Creech on board his trusty Kawasaki and KTM mounted Kyle Pacey jumped out of the gate in the opening moto to lead the field through the first turn.

It wasn‰Ûªt long before Jayden Rykers made his way through the pack to make the pass to take the lead and win from Creech, Josh Adams, Kyle Pacey, Erhard Pajewski and Brody Fewster.

Creech and Adams battled for the lead att he start of moto two, with Rykers, Mitch Taylor and Fewster in toe. Rykers made the pass with one lap to go to take the honours with Adams second, Taylor third, followed by Creech and Fewster in fifth place.

Moto 3 saw Adams out of the gates into the first turn to lead the field however Rykers was in red hot form and made the pass in the opening lap and would go on to take a clean sweep of the day.

Adams was kept busy in second position where he would finish, with the hard charging Pacey keeping the pressure on to secure third in the moto, Creech came home in fourth with Fewster holding firm to finish in fifth position.

Rykers results had him on the top step of the podium with Josh Adams second and Charlie Creech in third place.

‰ÛÏI was really happy with my racing today, the bike was absolutely on song and I have to say a big thanks to D and N Waste for the KTM 2 Stroke today, the bike did not miss a beat." Rykers said at days end.
