Three days of official MotoGP tests came to close at the Sepang International Circuit today, as the CWM LCR Honda Team completed their penultimate pre-season session before the 18-round world championship begins in late March.
The day began in typical fashion at the scorching 3.444 mile circuit, with all riders heading quickly out onto the track at 10am to take advantage of the coolest part of the day. It was at this time that Jack Miller set his best lap of the week, putting in an impressive 2‰Ûª01.593 before focusing on race set-up once more.
The Australian was taking part in his third test at the South-East Asian circuit during the winter, and admitted that he felt ready to move on to another challenge, which he will get when the final test session takes place in Qatar just over a week before the start of the campaign.
‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm really happy with how the test has gone and I have worked hard on the bike but also on myself in order to get more comfortable as the laps go on." Miller said. "We‰Ûªre not too far off. I‰Ûªm the second of the rookie riders out there so that makes me happy because there are some other more experienced guys that have been used to bigger bikes behind me, so it‰Ûªs good to be where we are.
‰ÛÏOf course, we‰Ûªre still not quite as fast as we would like to be, but everybody‰Ûªs putting out some really quick times ‰ÛÒ my team-mate Cal did a scorcher this morning ‰ÛÒ so it‰Ûªs not easy at the moment, but it‰Ûªs good to feel like we‰Ûªre making progress.
‰ÛÏFor now I‰Ûªm reasonably pleased overall, but I will admit that I‰Ûªm looking forward to the next test in Qatar, which is a track that‰Ûªs a different style and a bit more flowing. It will be good to get there and try out another circuit on this bike.‰Û
