Husqvarna Introduce Prototype’s 2014 Machines and Factory Riders at EICMA

Posted:

Offering a glimpse of the future Husqvarna Motorcycles have unveiled a prototype Husqvarna 701 supermoto bike at the EICMA international motorcycle show in Milan, Italy.

The concept bike, which is clearly identifiable as a Husqvarna, showcases innovative ideas and incorporates all the major design features of a premium product. The bike gives a visual indication of the direction of Husqvarna design, the philosophy that future Husqvarna‰Ûªs will follow, where the surfaces of the bodywork are understated, focusing on simplicity.

Technically, Husqvarna 701 is characterised by a big 690cc single cylinder 4-stroke engine, which produces 75hp and outstanding torque, harnessed within a lightweight Chromoly steel trellis frame and suspended by the latest WP fork and shock technology.

The high performance exhaust gives the Husqvarna a soulful voice, while the latest Brembo radial brakes deliver eye-popping stopping power.

On show alongside the Husqvarna 701 prototype inside hall 18 at EICMA is the full 2014 model range of motocross and enduro bikes.

The motocross range features six top-level performance machines, starting from the TC85 minicross for youth racers. The two-stroke TC125 and TC250 models ensure machinery for all and sit perfectly alongside the four-stroke FC250, FC350 and FC 450 models.

For those who enjoy the highest performance, Husqvarna‰Ûªs FC250 presents itself as a leader in terms of performance for the MX2 class, the powerful FC350 and FC450 are sure to compete for the podium in the 2014 MXGP season.

The enduro range consists of seven models, with the increasingly popular two-stroke TE125, TE250 and TE300 models and high-performance four-stroke FE250, FE350, FE450 and FE501 bikes. The highlights of the entire range are the 48mm WP 4CS front fork, a closed cartridge unit with four separate chambers and the multi-adjustable WP rear mono-shock with linkage system.

Racing will be the link between the glorious past and the future of Husqvarna. Set to be a major player in the FIM Motocross World Championship Husqvarna will field a dynamic line-up of exciting and youthful riders, split between the MXGP and MX2 classes.

Introducing Husqvarna‰Ûªs 2014 motocross riders at EICMA both the Red Bull Ice One Husqvarna Factory Racing MXGP team and the Red Bull Wilvo Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing MX2 team were present.

Former MX2 World Champion Tyla Ratray (South Africa) and GP newcomer Todd Waters from Australian will compete in MXGP under the watchful eye of Antti Pyrh̦nen, Ice One Racing team manager.

Two of the most promising young motocross talents will compete for Husqvarna in the MX2 class ‰ÛÒ Romain Febvre (France) and Aleksandr Tonkov (Russia). Each will be guided by former 500cc World Motocross Champion and Husqvarna factory rider Jacky Martens.
