Husqvarna Factory Laglisse Riders Complete Jerez Moto3 Test

Posted:

Husqvarna Factory Laglisse riders Isaac Vinales and Maria Herrera continued with pre season preparation this week, completing the second round of official IRTA Moto3 Pre-Season Tests at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

The tests, used by teams to refine bike set-ups and fine-tune performances ahead of the start of the 2015 World Championship season got off to a difficult start on the opening day Tuesday with high winds tempering riders‰Ûª desires to set fast laps.

The three-day tests nevertheless started positively for Vinales who came away at the end of day one with the fastest lap on the combined sheets, with the Spanish rider recording a 1:46.817 in the final of three sessions. His teammate Maria Herrera, one of only two women riders in the Moto3 paddock was more comfortable on the circuit when the wind dropped in the afternoon as she worked on improving times.

Vinales was hampered on day Two of the tests with a slight injury to a finger after crashing in the first of three sessions. The injury affected his ability to brake and he was unable to improve on Tuesday‰Ûªs times. Herrera said she felt much more confident and put in a 1:47.376 lap time to equal her best time on the Jerez circuit.

At the end of Day three Vinales was positioned sixteenth fastest to be exactly in the middle of the field of 32 riders and it was his Day One time of 1:46.817 that stood as his best lap.

‰ÛÏAfter yesterday's crash I didn't feel comfortable riding the bike when it came to brake due to the pain in my finger. We tried several settings but we didn't find a solution to adapt the bike to my personal way of riding." Vinales said.

"It is important to recover from my injury as soon as possible. We have to achieve the feelings we need to be among the fastest riders of Moto3.‰Û
