HRC‰Ûªs Christian Craig Sidelined With Torn ACL

Posted:

Honda HRC‰Ûªs Christian Craig was looking good heading into round two until a crash early in moto 1 ended his day.
Team Honda HRC‰Ûªs Christian Craig fell victim the terrible luck the team has experienced this year when he crashed and damaged his knee at Round two of the Lucas Oils AMA Pro Motocross Championship at California‰Ûªs Glen Helen Raceway last weekend

Craig, who has been a fill in rider for the injured Cole Seely, went 8-8 to at round one last week in Hangtown to start his to 2018 campaign off in a respectable 8th place.

After qualifying 6th for round two Craig scored the holeshot in the opening moto only to crash hard and was then slow to remount. He was forced to withdraw from the race and sit out the remainder of the day with an injured left knee.

Craig visited the doctor the day after his injury, where it was confirmed that he had torn his ACL and will require surgery.
Craig went into the round 8th in the standings after a respectable opening round.
‰ÛÏIt didn‰Ûªt go at all how I had hoped, obviously," Craig lamented. "I felt pretty good all day, qualifying sixth and getting the holeshot in the first moto. Halfway through the first lap, I went down pretty hard and instantly knew my knee was hurt. I‰Ûªm just so bummed because this is the third year in a row that I‰Ûªve gotten hurt here and it‰Ûªs frustrating.

"Rather than feel sorry for myself, I‰Ûªm going to work on coming back stronger. Thank you to everyone for expressing concern, and huge thanks to the team for the opportunity this year!‰Û
A blistering holeshot in the opening moto all turned to naught when Craig (32) crashed a few corners later.
