Honda Racing Australia returns to on-track action at this weekend’s penultimate stop of the 2022 Australian Supercross Championship.

The first half of the season was rather successful for the manufacturer and now, with just two rounds left to run, Honda riders are set to battle for both the SX1 and SX2 titles.

Justin Brayton is poised for more success on his HONDA GENUINE CRF450R. Brayton is tied for the series lead in the SX1 class and eager to return to the top step of the podium when gates drop on Saturday night. Always searching for the next step, he utilised the break in the calendar well and raced to the podium at the historic Paris supercross. Kyle Webster will join Brayton in SX1 again and be hoping to improve on his impressive ride in Adelaide; he is currently sixth in the championship standings.

“I am excited to continue my fight for the championship this weekend, I am not done racing, some people misunderstood my retirement announcement – I retired from full-time racing in America but I haven’t retired from racing completely. Everything is clicking with the team at the moment. Paris was another boost for all of us and I am excited to put that momentum to good use when gates drop on Saturday night,” Brayton said.

For Team HRC Australia rider Max Anstie, Newcastle provides an opportunity to extend his unbeaten streak in the SX2 division. Anstie has been absolutely perfect aboard his CRF250R and sits on a twelve-point advantage in the championship, as a result of that. Competition will come from his teammate, Wilson Todd, who joined him on the podium at the previous stop and is really finding his stride indoors. Gage Linville, the rookie from the United States, will continue to learn and progress in SX2 too.

“Another week and another new destination for me!” Anstie mused, “It has been so much fun to travel around Australia for the first time. Obviously, the results that we have had have made that experience even better. Hopefully, we can stand on the top step of the podium again on Saturday night!”

Saturday, November 26, is the date that the penultimate stop will be run on. Newcastle marks the start of a furious run to the final checkered flag – the finale will be run in Wagga Wagga just one week later.
