Honda Racing Australia has confirmed its full rider line-up and partners for the 2025 Australian Supercross Championship, with the team once again aiming to extend its legacy of dominance.

The powerhouse Honda outfit has been virtually unbeatable in recent years, claiming the last eight consecutive SX1 (450cc) titles and four of the past five SX2 (250cc) crowns, including three on the trot. But with rival teams bringing in big-name international talent, the 2025 season is shaping up as one of the most competitive yet. While some sponsors have adjusted their title positions, all remain firmly behind Honda’s ambitious campaign.

In the SX1 premier class, Dean Wilson (#15 – Quad Lock Honda) returns for his fourth season with Honda and is determined to reclaim the championship he last held in 2023. The American-based Scotsman said he feels right at home racing in Australia. “I love it here. I’ve made so many friends and my team feels like family. There’s a lot of international talent coming in, which is great for the championship. With such a short season, every gate drop counts, I need to bring my A-game.”

Joining him in SX1 is Cedric Soubeyras (#2 – Boost Mobile Honda). The six-time French champion and former AMA Supercross top-10 race finisher will contest his first full season in Australia and is eager to make an impact. “I was so excited when I got the call. I know about Yarrive and his team, and the incredible success Honda has had in Australia. My goal is to fight for wins and be on the podium at the end.”

Over in SX2, reigning champion Shane McElrath (#1 – Quad Lock Honda) is back to defend his title. He knows the challenge ahead is serious, noting, “The guys down there are fast, and with more internationals coming in, I’ll need to stay sharp.”

Former SX2 champion and 2022–23 Australian 250 Motocross Champion Wilson Todd (#2 – Berry Sweet Honda) also returns to the class following a strong comeback season in MX1. “I had my best 450 season this year after two tough years with injuries,” Todd explained. “Missing last year’s supercross motivates me even more. The goal is to win the 250 title and move back up to the 450s full-time next year.”

Backing them up in SX2 is back-to-back Australian Motocross Champion Brodie Connolly (#88 – Polyflor Honda), who continues his supercross learning curve after an impressive debut in 2024. “This is still new to me,” Connolly said. “The riders I’m racing against have hundreds more laps on supercross tracks. I’ve learned mistakes are costly, and I need to limit them.”

Consistency is the goal for Alex Larwood (#5 – National Finance and Loans Honda), who showed podium pace last year but was undone by crashes. “Last year my pace was strong, but mistakes cost me. I just missed the podium in motocross and I’m hungry to make it happen in supercross.”

Another exciting addition to the SX2 roster is 18-year-old Queenslander Thomas ‘Tiger’ Woods (#4 – Pro Honda Oils and Chemicals Honda). After seven years racing and training in the U.S., most recently finishing top three in the SMX Next Championship, Woods is glad to be back on home soil. “I’m so happy to be back in Australia and grateful for the opportunity with the Factory Honda Team. I have no set expectations; my goal is to find my pace in the first two rounds and build from there.”

In the SX3 development class, Kayd Kingsford (#2 – Quad Lock Honda) enters supercross fresh from his first outdoor title and is aiming for a rare double in motocross and supercross. “Mistakes cost me last year, but I’ve learned patience and maturity are key. The international competition is great for all of us, it raises the level.”

Rounding out the Honda squad is Jet Alsop (#42 – Pro Honda Oils and Chemicals Honda), rewarded with a factory ride after finishing runner-up in MX3. “It’s a stacked field, and it won’t be easy, but I’m ready to give it everything,” Alsop said.

With a mix of proven champions, rising stars, and international heavyweights, Honda Racing Australia heads into the 2025 Australian Supercross Championship united by a common goal: extending its remarkable run of success while continuing to inspire the next generation of riders.
